Hey Friends!
I hope y’all had an amazing Christmas and New Years! We had a crazy December traveling a lot including this little guys first flight.
We left our house 2 a.m. Christmas Eve morn for our flight! The kids really did amazing traveling but it definitely wiped me out. I got sick at the end of our Christmas trip to WA and it’s taken me until nowish to recover…. But I am back and have lots of amazing encouragement planned for you this year! Woohoo!!! I’m sorry for the snail’s pace start to 2019 around here,
Speaking of snails….
My first Friday Fave is something I really
LIKE:
I read somewhere recently that if JTT (Jonathan Taylor Thomas) was your childhood crush it was time to start using eye cream… wow… never have I felt older… fortunately for me I have a snail to help me with my old age eye probs….
Snail Repair Eye Cream, * yup you read that right… it’s so weird… so I just don’t think about it – but they actually use snail mucus in this stuff and apparently it’s an ancient Korean beauty hack. I was skeptical when I first heard about this stuff, but the low price and good reviews on Amazon made me decide to do something crazy and give the snail a try…. guess what, been using this for a year (jar lasted me a year) and I can honestly say it’s the best eye cream I have used. I even had a make up artist comment once that she was surprised I had no under eye concealer on bc I was a busy sleep deprived Mama and I didn’t have horrific dark circles or bags. So thank you little snails for helping this Mama look like a humanish….
LAUGH: y’all I was having the hardest time getting our Christmas decorations down, between being sick and Zeke being up a lot at night nursing I was lacking some serious motivation. Today Caden looked at me as I was sitting on the couch and was like “mama, when are we taking these Christmas decorations down!”…. “uhhh when I get a little more energy,” was my reply. Caden then proceeds to get out his stool, starts taking down ornaments and directing Finn (who is 2 yrs old) to help him.
It was so funny and awesome! Good thing I have my 4 year old around to keep me on track in life 🤣🤣🤣
LINGER: I’m sharing with y’all about this book I just started reading because as of tonight it’s only $1.59 on kindle. Its called “A Million Little Ways, Uncover the Art you were Made to Live” by Emily Freeman.
Normally I hold off on recommending a book until I have completely read it but what an amazing deal and I am already so encouraged by this book and I think you will be too. This book is all about calling out the creative soul in each one of us, and the author is very clear that “creative” doesn’t just mean you are a singer or painter, it is finding out who our Creative Creator made us to be!!! We were designed by a creative God and so we all are creative in some way! What a cool thought. Emily is a beautiful writer and I think you will enjoy this book.
LOVE: We got a new couch! Y’all this was the steal of the century! Did you know that God Loves to speak your love language??? What I mean by that is that if you start paying attention and just even ask Him, He loves to give us sweet gifts that delight our heart. This doesn’t mean He is always going to show His love in a material way, but He definitely does that way too! One of the main ways I receive love is through gifts (I also love to give gifts!). We had been needing a new couch for a while and we ended up unexpectedly having some extra money to buy one and got this crazy awesome deal on it. I really felt so loved and known by God. It was an extravagant gift to our family!
And now I have one very important question – how do you arrange the throw pillows on a sectional? I have never had one before. Do you put a pillow in the middle? Send me all your sectional wisdom!!!!
I am praying that this weekend you experience the intimate love of the Father! Ask Him to speak your love language, look for the ways He is pursing your heart! You are going to be blown away. Remember it’s not about receiving a material item (although God may give you something materially like He provided the sectional), but it’s about looking for and receiving Love from our Father, in the unique way He pursues all our hearts.
