How’s your week been? My week has felt crazy… full of lots of good stuff🤗… but also stretching for me!
🎄Here’s the thing, God kept speaking to me about writing an Advent devotional to share with y’all and placed such a strong urgency in my Spirit to write it that I have been typing faster than Santa’s elves work on December 23rd… 🎅🤶🏻I’m assuming that’s a busy day up North❄️… Surely, there are some Elves who work better under pressure🤔… and tend to put things off until the deadline approaches… not that I would know anything about that…🤣
So in typical God fashion, knowing me better than I know myself- God sort of gave me a “last minute” Advent is coming writing assignment👩🏻💻. I am actually crazy excited to share it with y’all because I just have the sense that there is an opportunity to see God do BIG things in your life this Advent season. And now for the main event Friday Faves…
(Every week I share something I LOVED, LIKED, & made me LAUGH & LINGER)
Since we hosted Thanksgiving, & I was resting shopping that evening… trying to beat all the other virtual Black Friday shoppers from stealing my cart items…🛒🛍. I skipped my normal Friday Faves post (sorry… no siren song is stronger to me than the melodies of a good deal) so I never got to tell y’all about our sweet day. We had several families from our church over and we had 10 kids under the age of 6. My dear friend Katy and I have gotten to spend quite a few thanksgivings together starting when we both each had our first born boys! And now we each have 3 boys (one’s in her belly). Whhhhaaattt!!!!💙💙💙💙💙💙. I am thankful everyday we get to be framily and raise our kiddos together.
LAUGH: Y’all I think I need to get out more. Today I told “Google” (it’s like an Alexa just different brand). To “stop” (the music it was playing) and it said to me “sure I would love to talk, what would you like to talk about?” Good to know I always have a friend named “google” I can confide in. Google must have noticed my lack of adult conversation around here.
I am continually surprised how much I like to bake with these boys… I don’t really like cooking much, and normally adding in the stress of managing 2 toddlers to an activity I don’t like would make me avoid it- but there is something really sweet and special about seeing these boys joy when I include them in baking. Here they are helping me make my world famous pumpkin pie… shhh… here’s the secret…. the best recipe EVER for pumpkin pie is on the back of the Libby’s pumpkin can 😘. Your welcome.
LINGER: This book!* The Lucky Few. It’s a must read for anyone- parents or not. It’s the story of a couple who deal with infertility, feel called to adoption, and 2 out of the 3 of their adopted children have Down’s syndrome. It is a beautiful, funny and powerful look at an ordinary’s families’ yes to God and how He sustains them and brings about miracles in unexpected ways. Add this one to your Christmas list or Christmas vacay reading list stat! 🎄🎁
