Its time for an update and even more exciting than that its time for the chance to win a fabulous prize –
Today we are having an incredibly special give – away from an organization called Jesus’ Economy.
Jesus’ Economy has graciously agreed to giveaway one of these adorable purses to one Clarity with Charity reader. All you need to do to enter is sign up for their newsletter at the end of this post. KEEP READING for your chance to win!
Ok y’all…is this not one of the cutest bags ever! I love all the color which makes it stand out from a neutral purse, but the colors blend seamlessly with all kinds of outfits. I also love that the bag says “peace” on it, as a reminder to pray for those who made it – women from a trade school in Haiti, who are being transformed by the gospel and the opportunity to learn a trade.
Empowering women through the gospel and the marketing of goods in Haiti, is just one of the many ways that Jesus’ Economy is changing lives around the world.
John Barry, the founder and CEO of Jesus’ Economy, shares from his heart today about the trans formative work that Jesus’ Economy is doing around the world.
We believe that this will result in a new global, spiritual and physical economy for those that need it most.

Hopefully by next week we will be back into our normal groove. Thanks for understanding and being the best readers EVER!
Happy Columbus Day! I hope this finds you enjoying a day off, and if you don’t have the day off I hope your day is filled with unexpected sweetness….One way your day could get a lot sweeter is if you WIN!!!!!!!!
Please comment by tonight at midnight for a chance to win this book, that can help you connect to God in fresh ways!To Win: Comment below with the answers to these questions taken from Part 4 of Why I Spend Time with Jesus.
1. How do I best learn and retain information, whether in school, job training ect…? By moving, doing, saying, hearing, or seeing? Or some combination of these learning styles?
2. What activities do I enjoy doing? These are the kinds of activities you do naturally without anyone requiring you to do it. Where do I enjoy going? These are the kind of places you feel free to be yourself.
In honor of the happiness that is…Friday…
I wanted to share with you a few fun things…
1. The winner of the Junie B. Jones book is Daniella Leonard! Congrats Daniella, and thanks for participating.
2. This is where I found Jaxon this week…
for all the exasperated parents out there (of animals or people) perhaps you can relate to the feeling of “Really! Really!” You have a cat tree and a basket of cat toys and kitty treats, but this is where you choose to spend your time! The night I found Jaxon in the sink I also found him (actually heard him)…in the dishwasher…after I had closed it…and heard him meowing.
Apparently in between the 5 seconds in which I had turned around to talk to my husband and closing the dishwasher door, he had quietly crept into the dishwasher, and hidden himself between plate racks until he got bored with the adventure and started to cry. If it hadn’t struck me as extremely hilarious to find your cat curled up in the sink, and trapped in the dishwasher in one evening, I might have been mad. But it really made me laugh, some people’s lives are interesting because of their jobs or their kids or their world wide travels, mine is interesting because of the aquatic places my cat (an animal known to hate water) turns up. I hope this pic gives you a little chuckle today!!!!!
3. Thank – you, Thank-you! To everyone who commented for the first time this week (and for all of you who regularly comment!) Commenting to a blogger is like a tip to a barista, not required, but gives you a little extra encouragement and motivation to keep creating, dreaming and writing!!!!!!
4. I feel like there could be some other “Type – A, Fixer, Doer, Feeler, Burden Carriers” out there that need to hear what God whispered to my heart yesterday…as I felt the weight of other people’s sorrows and struggles coming to crush me.
You don’t need to be their Savior, I need you to just be obedient. (to whatever He says to do, not do, say or not say)
Thank you Jesus!…His reminder that I am not enough but He is, makes this a very FUN FRIDAY!!!!!
Don’t miss out on the chance to win a free, fun children’s book! Giveaway ends at midnight tonight, and I will announce the winner next week.

If you grew up, like me, spending your summers reading your favorite books, you are going to love this give away! As a kid I couldn’t get enough of books. Some of my favorites were The Boxcar Children, The Bobbsey Twins, Anne of Green Gables, Nancy Drew and of course the Ramona books.
If there was ever a literary character I could and still relate with, it is Ramona Quimby. Ramona is curious, imaginative with a huge heart to help her family and friends. Unfortunately, her crazy ideas usually end in disasters. However, her eternal optimism and love for those around her always prevails to bring good out of the worst catastrophe.
I was thinking about Ramona last night as I made dinner. Ahem…err…ummm… attempted to make dinner. I was trying a new recipe and I was sure it would be one my husband loved, because it had three of his favorite things in it: Chicken, Cheese and Mushrooms.
Unfortunately, I missed the part in the recipe which indicated it needed to be cooked on a grill or a broiler. If I had read this more thoroughly I would have realized: our grill is broken, and what is a broiler anyway?
My awesome husband spent about an hour trying to figure out where the broiler on our oven was. Only for us to discover our oven has no broiler pan! Disaster! It turned out fine because I just baked the chicken and my husband (who is very used to my Ramona moments) was very patient through the whole ordeal. Turns out the recipe is just as good baked as broiled or grilled (not that we actually know) It is going onto our list of favorite meals. Another Ramona sized triumph!
What Children’s Literature character do you most identify with?
If you’re not sure, you can take this quick quiz and tell me who you get: http://quizilla.teennick.com/quizzes/1399139/what-hero-heroine-of-childrens-literature-are-you
(I got Anne, as in Anne with an “E” – my second favorite children’s literary heroine)
The give – away is for this “Junie B. Jones” book. Junie B. is a hilarious and precocious modern children’s literary hero. Although these books weren’t around when I was a child, I confess they have provided me a lot of laughs as an adult.
Even if you think you are “too old” for this book….I would encourage you to enter! Give it to a child and encourage them to read, give it to a teacher or a local library. But before you do…you should read it…come on…its good to see the world through the eyes of a child =)
You have up to four chances to win! Please, comment below:
– Tell me which children’s literary hero is your favorite OR who you most identify with.
– Take the quiz and tell me the results.
– Sign up to receive my email notifications for the blog. Please tell me “email” in your comments
– Tweet or share this blog post on facebook. Please tell me “I shared”
Its time for another great give-away! This give away is in honor of summer, fun and becoming brilliant while you bronze. And because one of my favorite things to do in the summer is to drink a refreshing cold smoothie while reading by the pool or beach I am giving away a $10 Jamba Juice gift card. Keep reading for how to earn up to 4 entries!
I was thinking the other day about my summers as a kid and how my brother and I would go to the library and check out literally stacks and stacks of books. I am so thankful for the hours I spent reading as a child and teenager, because it gave me a love of the written word and showed me the power of a story well told.
Today I am sharing my summer reading list and would love for you to share what is on yours? If you will share what book(s) you are planning to read this summer you will earn one entry for our Jamba Juice drawing!
I like to be reading several books at once! Anyone else? Or do you always finish one book before starting another? I pick books in a variety of categories (how do you pick which book(s) you are reading?)…
For this I just finished the book Bittersweet by Shauna Neiquist. It was my second time reading it, and I found it even more powerful than the first read, because she writes about a season in life where she moved to a different city and also experienced a miscarriage.
Category #4 – A fun light hearted novel that feels like watching your favorite romantic comedy, easy to read, lovable characters, somewhat predictable plot, and a happy ending. I am not sure yet, any ideas????
Category #5 – Spiritual Development Bread and Wine by Shauna Neiquist
As I mentioned earlier you have up to 4 chances to win this Jamba Juice gift card!
Happy Reading! Happy Summer!
